I don't totally get it. I'm pretty musical. I can see that Nickelback isn't the best. And, I haven't listened to a lot of their stuff. But, I don't get the level of hate. I think it's a group mentality thing made up of a lot of people who aren't musically gifted (and most people aren't musically gifted). Maybe they can't really tell, but they want to seem like they're "in the know", so they hear one famous music talent or critic put down a band and away the snowball of copycat criticism goes. Really, I don't think Nickelback is that bad.
And, I feel the same way about Blake Bortles. In an NFL where any shred of competency at the QB position is a big deal, why hate Blake Bortles the way a lot do? But, He's beyong having just a shred of skills: He might even be halfway decent. Possibly, as a veteran, He could be plain decent. I don't get it. His stats aren't bad. Checkout His AV (Approximate Value) scores on Pro-Football-Reference.com. They look better than Marcus Mariota, for one.
