People are buying MegaMillions today like they should buy sports cards, because the jackpot is near a billion dollars. When a jackpot gets this big it draws out people who rarely buy or have never bought a ticket. Some things wrong with that:
1) The chance of winning is no better and maybe worse
2) What elite purchase would you now make which you couldn't when the jackpot was "just" $100 Million?
3) The thing about being that rich, I think, is too smooze with other super-level social people; but, no one there will take you seriously if you were an Uber driver who won the lotto
4) Every documentary I've seen about jackpot-winners ends in the winner worse off than He/She/It started.
